Not sure but I should have a report later as some of the others were in the area. From the lack of traffic, I am thinking the admission fee kept a lot of people away. Chippie had a special deal but you did not see the local families in the area as I have seen before.

How did they enforce the admission fee? Can't figure out how they logistically did that with such a huge area. I think the admission fee is a bad idea, but if they're going to do that, I think they should put the headliner on a reasonable hour. I would have loved to see UB40 in person, if I were there, but don't think I would have paid because I assume they didn't come on until like 1 AM, which is the norm, and that's too late to start, for me..

Not sure and a lot more stages/raised areas for VIP ($175pp) and it looked to be a pretty confined area. I know the Red, Red Wine song was done around 2:30 am from what a neighbor told us. Not much in the paper today about it. I have not walked to Kim Sha today but on the morning walk, I saw much less trash than in past year and I assume that is due to less people.

On another note, the Captain D place has had tables, stools and chairs out on a regular basis and looks to be trying to expand. Junior said they could not have tables without restrooms, of which there are none. I am all for a hard working person making a fair living but (to me at least) this thing has "squatter" written all over it and his facebook rants regarding the local government may or may not have merit. Just my opinion from my observation.

Also, the paved parking area and partial new side walk is interesting. There is a blue plastic tube/pipe running out of it in the area of Captain D's and a water meter/line protruding from the middle of the sidewalk further down. Makes no sense at all to have incorporated these into the cement.

Right after Captain D's first opened I made a comment that they needed some picnic tables. I was told that they were put out but had to remove them. I guess the financial situation has changed.

2:30 in the morning is just way too late to me. Will be interesting to hear some numbers on the crowd, although who knows whether the numbers will be correct or not.

Regarding Captain D's, I enjoy their food, but I have no idea what the legalities are of the situation. IF someone that doesn't comply with regulations and that gives them an unfair advantage over people who do, then that isn't right.

Where does the sidewalk go ?

The sidewalk goes from just past Royal Palm to where there is a little shopping center at the end of the lot.

I talked to a local resident who did go and did pay the $20. He said there ways around paying and I know Chippie had some special deal. He also said the crowd was much less than before but the VIP ($175pp) was supposedly sold out.

I bet the vendors down in the sand aren't happy.

Many people stayed out.
Personally I used to listen to UB40 before they became too commercial, I wouldn't have paid to listen to Sweet Wine and the other latest stuff.
You never know what these old bands will play. A few months ago Village People were at the Refuge, they played 5 songs, turned up 90 mins late and stopped playing as soon as it rained.

We were on the island when they were there; I'm glad we decided not to go to the show. As I recall, the scheduled start was pretty late to begin with.

Well, yeah, but couldn't people just stand outside that area and still see and hear?

Yes sure you could easily stand outside and hear a lot. Buccaneer Bar decided to blast their own music which was pity, but there were still many places where you could hear it well.
