The passing parade

The passing parade - 06/24/2017 08:26 PM

This time of year, there aren't nearly so many cruise ships and rich men's toys to watch, but we love to sit on our deck here at Beachside Villas and watch the passing parade of all things, big and small.

It is why it is so hard to drag ourselves away from here. We sit with the front and back doors open most of the time, with the lovely breeze flowing the house, and just enjoy the parade... There are no bands and no big floats, other than the clouds floating by. No applause, except in our heads, to the gods of fate, who allow us to be spectators in the lovely procession...

Enjoy..

Very nice...exactly why we love the Simpson bay area...both from your viewpoint and ours on the SBR 5th floor of the upper B bldg.

We just can't see the dogs....but we do walk that beach frequently

We miss our puppies at home! I have noticed that the vast majority of the dogs now on the beach are accompanied by owners, and are either on leash or close to the owner, within control. We just loved seeing that dachshund be-bopping down the beach, in front of his owner!

It's a great live show! I always wave hello to the joggers and the on lookers. One of my favorite things is look out with my binoculars at all the ships and Navy vessels. It's funny how the sand grabs look back at you, even after you give them a crumb or two!! best "music" on the Island!

We actually saw it passing by. I was too lazy to get up and take a picture, but I did think you were probably on it. I guess I waved back in my mind!

I'm not sure on the white dog. There's a black dog who doesn't ever seem to be with anyone (but he still has a collar). Most of the rest of them seem to be with someone.
