Go to the main index page. Scroll all the way down. It is the second from the bottom. Good Luck! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

It seems that pictures can only be uploaded from computers rather than smart phones. Is this true? All of our pictures have been on my iPhone in the past and I have trouble even uploading a user photo. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

There are quite a few ways to get pics from your phone to post here.

...email them to yourself and save the pic to a "pictures" folder on your computer

...use Google or Amazon photos and they will be accessible on all your devices (and TV if you have Chromecast or Amazon Fire Stick/TV). Any pic I take is auto uploaded to the cloud (both) and immediately accessible on my tablet/laptop/TV (I have it set to wifi upload only to save data). Just about Every day I get pics I took on that day in previous years..kinda cool.

Remove to SD card from your phone and use the MiniSD adapter to upload the pic file to your computer

...plug your phone into your computer and download all your pics. I do this around every 6 months and have a hard copy backup of all pics in addition to the cloud backup.

I only recently learned to post photos. The method I use is to upload to photobucket.com. Photobucket provides code that you can insert into your trip report. I created a word doc than copy and pasted the entire thing into ttol.

Here is the doc I created. It shows the proper code. The first line of code was corrected for me by Eric after a failed attempt. I then just copied the format. Note the [IMG ] part of the code--in the code below there are spaces. If you remove the space the photo will post. I left the space so that you could see how the code looks, which is exactly what Eric did for me. Also, note that photobucket provides the code after uploading. Here is the link to the old post so you can see what it looked like when I left the space out. http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/s...e=6#Post1736803

Me at Rosemary’s in Marigot. Didn’t get a photo of the food. I was too busy eating it. Awesome Oxtail.

Re: posting photos - 07/12/2017 11:30 AM

Photobucket is getting a lot of grief since it changed its model and is now a pain to get pics to post. They have moved to a paid storage site and the free hosting is severely limited.

I would back up those pics that you have on PB before they disappear

Your pics didn't attach....

This will also affect previous posts with pics you attached that might now be little boxes with an X in the middle

I don't have many pics on PB so my storage is within limits and they will post (below)

Previously from Carol Hill: "All I do is email the picture to myself in Outlook and select the "medium" size, in order to resize it. Then you go to the St Maarten/St. Martin (or BVI) picture forum, and create a new thread, put SOMETHING in the post and click on the "I want to preview my post and/or attach a photo" and upload the picture. Once it's uploaded there, right click on the picture and the "properties" will show you the url of the picture, when you then use the IMAGE tag to post, in the regular forums. "

Even if your storage is within limits, as mine is, PB may block your ability to link to other sites. It seems to be a progressive thing, maybe related to the number of links or to the timing of them. Once blocked, all previous links are gone.

Good timing...I just got this from Photobucket:

The ridiculous thing about this is that they've been allowing it for years. I belong to several online forums where photos that have been shared forever are no longer available.
