Ace Car Rental - 07/13/2017 11:07 AM

Does anyone have any experience renting from Ace? Staying longer and looking for a less expensive option.

We have never had a problem with Ace and have rented from them for several years. Would not hesitate to use them again.

Great idea to put the links there for folks to shop.

We have used Ace twice with good success. We always ask them to give us the smallest most beat up car. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />

Actually, no. The person asked for comments on Ace, not 'who is the best car rental agency'..

I will agree to disagree with you on that one. I think that Ace is not who they normally deal with, but was looking to see experiences with Ace in particular.

We've been renting from ACE the last many years because they are the cheapest for our needs. Just be aware, they tax on 25% "tax" so their weekly quoted rates aren't quite as low as they initially appear, but still reasonable. Overall, we're paying $293 for 26 days, or a bit over $11/day for a Hyundai I10, declining all insurance.

I also watch the rates, as they historically have declined the closer to travel date we get. Not really a whole heck of a lot to reduce these rates from, though.

Ace, Empress, and Rent-a-Wreck and maybe one or two more operate out of the same building. Very possibly all one company. I have rented from Empress for several years and last year there were different people running it. Have gotten good service and price from Empress. I stay 5-6 weeks, so I am concerned with cost.

Yes Carol. You are correct. We usually use someone else and wanted to see if anyone had experience with Ace. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

We rented with ACE in Orlando. Is it the same company that rents cars in SXM? If it is we would never rent from them again. It was a horrible experience that took three weeks to fix. Too many issues to talk about here.

No. Any rental car agencies in SXM are totally unrelated in a business sense to agencies in the states.
