I was just going to post that too. Our friends made it to Barbados trying to make it home to SXM. They flew out this last Sunday trying to inch their way back. They originally were to fly to San Juan and then to St Kitts to motorboat back to St Maarten until Maria showed up and changed to Barbados to wait it out.
Wish they would have stayed with us another week and catch this flight.

Those in a hurry to get back to the island, depending on their individual situation or circumstances, may want to consider that their return may just strain the already limited resources (food, water, etc.) more than their presence will help anything. Just something to consider.

IMO, if you are not an official relief worker going down to help restore power and/or water to the island, or are an official distributing relief supplies.....
then just stay away!
