If we manage to get flight to Antigua the winair doesn't appear to fly to St maarten Saturday or Sunday. Is Liat an option?

can't you fly into Miami? and take AA, or fly into Atlanta and take Delta? can you get to Curacao? I'm flying Insel air (fly-inselair.com)

There are direct flights to SXM, Curacao & Aruba on AA. An easy 3 hours.

I won't go into our experiences with them... just be prepared.... They live up to their nickname "Leave the Island Anytime"

Handy Tip: You can have Pizza delivered from outside the Airport and into security. Also bring some SOLO cups, tip the concession lady for some ice, head over to the duty free for some rum, and a couple bottles of Coke. It will make your wait bearable and you will make some friends in the process....

If you can get to JFK (Jetblue and Delta), ATL (Delta) or MIA (Miami) I would do that and take direct flight into the Island.

Liat is not very dependable at all. You may be on what you THOUGHT was a nonstop flight from Antigua to SXM, and it might end up being three stops in between. As others have said, I think you would be better off flying to one of the US airports that have nonstops currently. ..Unless you are going to be spending time in Antigua also. If so, and Winair goes on different days than Liat, I would rearrange my schedule to do Winair versus Liat.

LIAT technically stands for Leeward Islands Air Transport, as I understand it. Many locals say it's more like "Leave Island Any Time." I don't fly them....
