Club O Report

Club O Report - 01/01/2018 03:48 PM

we just got back from Club O the other day. The 2 days we spent on the beach, there were 12 umbrellas 1 day, not sure on the other day. Maybe 40-50 people total each day. We got the impression that it was authorized by Club O and the employees working were hand chosen.

What kind of food offerings did they have at the Perch? Are there working restrooms at the Perch, or Pedro's, or down in the parking lot by the 'new' restaurants that got washed away?

Typical Perch menu with Mahi-Mahi available too. There is a container for storage in front of Chalet 98 (or whatever the last 1 along the edge of the property was). Next to that are restrooms. Not very clean or functional but there are restrooms. The structure for the restrooms behind the Perch is still there. Didn't check it out.

There is power to the container so that they can keep beer, drinks and food cold. They are planning to bring in another 1 for closer and additional storage

Parking is on Club O property in front of those chalets. Perch Lite sits roughly where the Club O sign was.

Down the beach is Luiz selling wraps and Chez Leandra selling drinks. CL is planning on bringing in a container to house their kitchen. They have just about completed redoing their space in a very basic manner using found materials. They stored some of their chairs at home and will bring those back.

The Club O property is a mess. All the wooden structures are gone. None of the units have been cleaned out. The property has piles of rubble everywhere. All of the units have been picked clean. Most don't have any cabinets or fixtures. We saw 2 cars/trucks looting sliding door frames and bath fixtures the days we were there. Inside of all the units is a water line roughly 6-7 ft that shows the height of the water as it surged.

Thanks for the reply. I wonder why they haven't done anything as far as cleaning up??

Thanks for the report. Are the cabs running on a dependable schedule?

Re: Club O Report - 01/01/2018 05:49 PM

we were told that lack of cleanup was due to the insurance adjusters not viewing the property yet. Even though there are no doors or windows on any of the units, they smelled terrible.

No idea on taxis since we rented from Lesley Bruce.

I do have pics/videos from the property, just haven't gotten around to viewing them.

I really doubt there are many taxis going to Club O, or more properly, picking UP there, unless it is arranged ahead of time, especially on days when there are no ships in.

Disappointing to hear that looting is still going on.

Sadly, if there is anything left of value to anyone and no means to prevent looting, it will continue.

We wandering thru a number of units and there was almost nothing that wasn't destroyed or ruined. Bath fixtures remain the only "valuable item" there. Pretty much everything in the Boutique is trashed. The very concerning thing is that the offices are open and there are 1000s of paper files there.

Hi, if you needed to book a cab, you could try Wilfred Brooks - sponsor
I know he lost his van, but still has his Toyota sedan
