I can honestly say I don’t think I have ever seen that much sand there!

And some were worried about the big boulders that were exposed some time ago. The sand comes and the sand goes, just like it does many times a year.

Is Sunset not doing chairs/umbrellas?

The heavy surf the first 2 weeks of March put a lot of sand on beaches. In 20 + years I had never seen as much sand in front of LaVista Beach. The tide pools were all filled in.

There were a bunch of umbrellas and chairs out earlier. Pretty much everyone left.

Glad to see this cam back but still miss the old cam which facilitated supervision of "free drinkers".

Last week the surf was so high that it was coming up over the road. A couple of days, they had to get a loader to remove the sand from the road. Wehn driving by during the day, every inch of that beach is covered with people from the cruise ships. I'd say they're doing quite well.

Looks to be down today. Is it just me?
It came in beautifully yesterday.

Very clear now but pointed down at the sand and one umbrella. Just needs to be set to another direction.

As of 3:30 PM today, it's a live cam, with a good picture..

NICE!...it's back...this morning it was pointed at the sand

Now it's pointed at the entire stretch of beach like it used to be before Irma. Only one umbrella and two chairs and close to sundown. Beach looked pretty clean too.

There are 2 people now...not seeing luggage and doesn't look like any clothes either.

Works now...but....it's pointed out to sea

It turns and follows a plane when it comes in.

I don't think this camera does this like the Maho Beach Cam did before it was relocated. The SSBB cam was always stationary. It appears it just depends on where it gets pointed any particular day.

Must be a REALLY long approach 'cuz an hour later it still is watching waves at sea

Still pointed out to sea. Sent them a Facebook message and asked them why it's pointed that direction. They probably don't know it is.

You don't think they monitor their own camera?

Just saw a prop job land and the camera followed it while it landed, then it pointed straight back out to sea.

Probably not or they don't pay much attention to it.

If that is the case, I personally doubt they would pay much attention to facebook either.

Will they are posting something almost every day on their page. Hopefully they will check messages.

I just happened to see that one plane landing and it did that. I just watched a prop job take OFF on the Maho cam, but the Sunset cam did not turn around to follow it, just kept looking at the empty ocean.

All we see is a freeze frame

Mine is live but just pointed straight down at the rocks and surf and a couple of people.

If it had audio, it might be calming to watch and listen!

I guess the facebook message had little impact?
