I wonder how the swimming pool would work? It would have to be fenced, as otherwise it would be over-run with day visitors. There was a rumor of a sort of high rise regular hotel to be built, perhaps back from the beach, so maybe the pool would be there.

I've always thought the idea of a pool was a good one.
At The Natural, Curacao, day visitors are welcome. They must make arrangements a day in advance, the cost is $15, and to discourage gawkers and voyeurs, they must be nude. Guests have a card to activate the security gate. We recently spent 10 days at this beautiful, well-run c/o resort.
I think a similar arrangement would work at CO. The beach should remain c/o.
I know I'm getting ahead of myself, but the mind wanders on yet another yucky spring day in the NE.

I just don't think that a pool at Club O could handle day visitors, as I think it would get over-run. The Natural doesn't have the hordes of cruise ship visitors that Club O has..

Good point. It would have to be guests only, as the grounds were supposed to be. Or an admission fee and nude only policy, which would discourage all but the most determined visitors.

"as the grounds were supposed to be."
All beaches are public. You referring to those as "grounds'?

I believe the area that Club Orient was granted will be extended into the Naturelle Reserve. If this is correct the construction of a multi story building and a swimming pool is really making a statement of what the Collectivite and the Conservatoire real motives are. $

Conservatoire du Littoral and the Saint Martin Collectivite make agreements(AOT) which allow development of
protected land. An AOT was granted to Club Orient for a slice of the property that overlaps the Conservatoire.

No. There is--or should I say WAS--a little rope 'fence' between the beach and the Club O grounds. Back a ways from the water.

No, the property beyond the beach.
