I woke early to see the sunrise and the start of another beautiful day. Most of the day was a bit overcast with a few brief, and I stress brief, showers. Breezy on the beach, never broke a sweat. It was a perfect beach day. But first a quick trip to Sunny Foods which I liked better than Fair Way Market--larger selection of produce and meats and some seemed fresher than at Fairway. I just wish they would fix or put back the traffic light at the intersection of AT Illidge road and Bush Road. Proceed with caution going through that intersection.
The cheerleaders for the New England Patriots arrived at Divi today for a photo shoot. There are activities with the cheerleaders planned for each day. I think they are here to take photos around the Island for a new calendar. We are GB Packer fans so it's not a huge deal for us, but if it attracts a few more tourists to Divi and St Maarten, we are all for it.
Owner update this morning--informative update and a pitch. We will certainly use the Divi dollars over the next two weeks. For those familiar with the property, the pool near the casitas is scheduled to be finished in November and include a swim up bar and roti shack. We took a quick look at the work being done and all of the casitas are under renovations as well.
Everyone was tired after a long day of doing nothing and we decided to stay in tonight. I'm always amazed at how tired you can be from doing nothing. Hopefully we will have more to report tomorrow.
New England, Booo. Seattle Seahawks, Yaaa.
Sunny Foods has always been one of my favorites. Even though Grand Marche was bigger, Sunny Foods appeared to be the favorite of the locals. Also it's just up the road from a laundromat we use.
We have seen many accidents at that light. People racing in and out of Philipsburg seem to lack caution.
If the cheerleaders shed it all and do a photo shoot on Orient Beach, I may stop being an Eagles fan and buy a calendar.
I did not appreciate the advantages and wonders of doing nothing until later in life.
Enjoy your vacation. We can't wait til December when we will return.
Sounds like another perfect day on the rock! Somehow its easy to get up and see those sunrises on SXM!.... P.S, Go Pat's LOL
Agreed, not a Patsies fan, but any event that brings more attention to the island is a good thing.
Sounds like a great day, doing nothing!! Hope you accomplish more of the same today!

Definitely boo to New England Patriots...however I would not have much of a problem with meeting their cheer leaders.
Should be a great Sunday !
Here in New England we are aware most people in the rest of the country are not Patriots fans. Saw a T shirt yesterday which said: New England Patriots versus Everyone Else
Saints fan here, but.... If someone there could post some pictures, that would be nice... Any cheerleader is better than no cheerleader.

And what does that tell you? LOL
Like they say, haters gonna hate! But as o2bnsxm said, its better than nothing, and it does bring some attention to the island! Wish i was there no matter which team was represented.
Everyone of them looks just like my wife LOLOL
Everyone of them looks just like my wife LOLOL
Same here when I dream. LOL
Scuba!!!! Wait until I see your wife next year......
Nice reply, BeachKitten!
Yes, everyone hates losing, and hates the ones who win most. Go Pats!
Scuba!!!! Wait until I see your wife next year......
I think she knows already. LOL
Do you have a dog house? Lol Sleeping quarters for tonight maybe?
I'm in fine shape. 48 years of marriage I think she knows me pretty well.
Same years as us. Congrats on that. It's getting rarer.
Same to you. At 40 we renewed our vows in St Maarten. We will celebrate our 50th in St Maarten along with our Daughter and son in law"s 20. They were married in St Maarten too.

Umm, the word jealousy comes to mind!
Then there should be a long list to hate!
Then there should be a long list to hate!
Dat for sure.
Are they talking about the runner-up Patriots?
All righty then!! Anyone that wants to talk about the upcoming football season is more than welcome to post a new thread in People Talk..
Looks like the first group of cheerleaders left and a fresh group just arrived today.
Yes, new group today. The Tango was parked off shore for a photo shoot early this morning. They used it as a back drop for their photos. Lots of photos being taken on the grounds of Divi today with the new group.
Fresh cheerleaders.....lol.....what more could you want?
I happened to see on YouTube this morning the photo shoot that the New England Cheerleaders did, and thought I would post the link. There is some footage of Divi and some of the areas around the island.

Thank you for the posting.
Saw this on Facebook earlier. Pretty fluffy but good for the island.
What was fluffy, the Cheerleaders?
Thanks for posting the video--always nice to be reminded of a great vacation. I enjoyed seeing the interview with the new GM at Divi, Anne Marie Brooks--she is the best hire they've ever made!
Thanks for posting. Really enjoyed watching.
