While it does look unsightly and unsafe, is the French side doing anything to help locally run businesses? Personally I would not venture into an area looking like the Marina.

We were at the Marina twice this week. Lunch at La Main a la Pate was wonderful, but sadly Sarafina's was not open yet, despite supposedly opening two days ago. Sorry to hear about these places. The back side was pretty awful (on the lagoon), but I've been in Antipodes several times and it seemed in good shape. Hope they get it fixed up soon!

I too hope that they get this fixed. The restaurants are some of my must visit while on the island. A nice break while shopping in Marigot. Rather than just closing all business, perhaps France can provide help in getting the businesses built the correct way. La Main a la Pate being one of my favorites, because years ago, the waiter sold me the t shirt off his back when they had run out of their supply to sell. I have since accumulate a selection of them. However, I have frequent most of the restaurants and shops.

Another example of "island time?" The place is "dangerous" and "in peril", so to avoid having the roof fall in on you and your patrons, make sure you get out sometime in the next TWO MONTHS? Hmm ....

Honestly, the part where Le Petite Auberge is has looked like it was falling down since Irma. Could not believe that building was open.
