I think 20-25% for Hotel Tax is outrages. Do you agree?

We stayed at Beachside Villas and they clearly state the government tax at 5% - no more, no less, and the option for giving a tip to your maid is left entirely up to the individual. We had great ladies there and even the grounds people were awesome.

Ok for BSV at 5%. Your Towers is at 20% why the range of 15%?

Hotel tax is definitely NOT 25%. SOME places along Simpson Bay Beach charge 25% on top of their price, which they say includes tax and service charge. As Pat said, Beachside Villas charges only 5% hotel tax and nothing for service charge. 25% on top of the room price really adds up, quickly.

Flamingo and Royal Palm, when they are open, charges a service fee that is mandatory to renters and RCI/II trade in guests and not the owners. Which covers pool, towel exchange and wifi.

I have no idea why anyone charges what they do - but at the Towers - that’s only for hotel renters - they don’t charge that amount to owners. But a ‘tax’ should be a very different thing from a ‘fee’ as so many resorts charge.

Owners just get the $50.00 a week island timeshare tax.

A hotel room rented at OBBR specifically states 5% tax plus 15% service charge.
