Rainbow Cupecoy - 01/07/2019 12:41 AM

Hi - been to St. Maarten often, but staying at Rainbow Beach Club in Cupecoy for the first time. Can anyone give me any info or advice on this location?
Thanks!

Haven’t stayed at Rainbow but we usually stay in the general area and find it to be a great location. It’s easy access through the French lowlands to Marigot and points beyond and if you’re a CO fan, you’re almost directly adjacent to the various Cupecoy beaches but if you tend to be more of the textile type you’re a bit of a hike but a nothing drive to Mullet Bay Beach.

There are some great and mostly relatively inexpensive places to dine in Jordan Village which is basically across the street from you and if you’d like more upscale dining, you’re a short drive to Porto Cupecoy.

The traffic is usually better when going to the French side from this area than it is if you’re heading to the airport and the causeway. And speaking of Jordan Village, there’s BarCode, Jules Bakery, the Spaghetti House, a couple of pizza places and several grocery stores all very close, many not even requiring a car to access them. You’re also a very short ride down the hill and around the golf course to The Maho area and whatever is going on there.

Personally speaking, I think it’s a perfect location, and what little I’ve seen of Rainbow itself, the units are nice. If I landed there eight unseen and with no advance knowledge of the property, I wouldn’t be let down at all.

I actually own at Rainbow and I love it. The pools have been recently refurbished and the location is wonderful. Agree with Pat about all the great eateries close by. Enjoy your stay.

We have stayed in Rainbow numerous times and love the place. Perfect location for us since we are not in favour of Orient beach and spend our timeouts a stretch between Karakter and bai ruge. The property has its own security and we never had any issue with b/e or anything else. Our cleaning lady forgot to close the apartment door once- imagine our scare when we arrived home from the beach and saw the door open! But nothing was missing.
This year we found a great deal at Porto Cupecoy and will be staying there for two weeks, but as I said, Rainbow is our number one choice.

I stayed in Cupecoy for three weeks in Nov/Dec, across the street from Rainbow; I agree with all that Pat said. Very much like the location for easy access to the French side. But when traffic is a mess, as it was on my last visit, it's just that much longer to get to Simpson Bay . . . assuming you have the fortitude to stay in traffic until you get where you are going. Additionally, during my 21-night stay, the lights in the golf course were on only three nights. As a single traveler and after hearing of an assault on another single female traveler, I was a bit nervous going through the golf course when it was dark. I tried to time it so I was following another vehicle. Everything was fine so my worries were unnecessary. Easy access to Jordan Village is a major plus as the Carrefour in that location is much better than the one in Porto Cupecoy.

Being close to Maho is another plus. Three Amigos has a new chef, and I thought the food there was very good. There's a new cafe, I think it's Cape Cafe, that is nice for a very light breakfast. And, of course, there's the wonderful Le Moulin Fou. I am sure you will enjoy the location.

Linda, you will be happy to know the lights came back on the gold course a week or so ago!

Elaine, they are off again and have been at least the last 4 nights. Hate it. So dark!
