Can anyone tell me how to keep webcam from timing out in just 2-3 seconds, I think it must be some setting in my lap top.

Do you use an ad blocker? I had the same problem and it was my ad blocker.
You will have to go into the program and have it make an exception to allow ads on the
www.sxmislandcam.com domain.
