I suppose it is good news, but sounds like a lot of money (another $100 million) to fix the structure. Wasn’t it insured?

No doubt the terminal was pretty, but when looking at the dents and damage to all the custom facade siding and curved ‘leading edge wing’ surfaces, it would seem to me they would be better off using roofing, siding, facade and window materials that come in ready made dimensions. Cheaper and easier to repair when the next Irma comes.

Except in a monsoon, I like coming down air stairs to the tarmac. So, skip the jetways. I’ll change my tune when I’ve got a walker. But there were folks bringing people up/down last trip. I’ll tip big then.

Not me. Jetways are the best. I remember those old days with the air stairs and old airport. Liked the new terminal before Irma and it's look too. Never liked it when you stepped off the plain and your glasses immediately fogged up and then tried to negotiate the stairs. Accidents waiting to happen.

Sorry, YES to jetways... Much easier, and FASTER, to get on and off the plane also.

Fogging up, that’s a tropical welcome. Many ways to avoid that. That’s what they make “cat crap lens anti-fog” and all those scuba anti-fog drops/spa sprays.

Jet ways make me feel like I’m walking into a “tube of shame” rather than a pretty aero plane.

You won't win this battle with me. Been on to many airports without jetways and have never seen any advantage to them. Only a slowing of getting on and off a plane and weather related problems. It's not just fogging but raindrops on my lenses too.

I’m only talking tropical vacation spots like Maui, SXM not Chicago

Come to think of it, I have never had a jetway at PJIA, even when it was 100%. American or Delta. It also makes for great photos half way up the steps and looking back at the bird.

I agree Carol. Jetways absolutely required at all new airports!

Yes, I always enjoyed the steps, but now getting older, trying to get carryon up the steps was hard for me.
