One day car rental from port

Boy I am so excited to return to SXM, its been over 10 years. I usuall stay for 12 days but this time I am visiting for a day on a cruise. Can anyone recommend a Car rental company that collects from the port and any idea of the cost of rental. I really want to spend the entire day at Club O beach and am weighing out the cost of a taxi (not sure of that rate either,) vs a rental car.

Honestly, if you really are going ONLY to Club O beach and back, you should just do a taxi. It depends on whether you're sharing a taxi or not, but a rough estimate for round trip for a taxi is around $40 for two people. Renting a car is going to run you probably close to twice that.. And if you're doing a taxi, you don't have to worry about drinking.

Correct. A one day rental will cost much more than a rt to orient by taxi.

Perfect, exactly what I needed...sadly it will be for one day only but as time is limited we wish to spend the entire day at the place that i have come to love. This is the first time for my fiancee and I can barely contain myself.

We did that same thing seven years ago, and a taxi van full of people cost us like $7.00 pp each way. I'm sure its gone up a bit since then. Have fun, i'm sure you'll have a great time.

hi thanks for the info, but we have decided that we would like to take a spin around the island and check out some of the other beaches. Neither of us drink so that won't be a problem. Can you recommend a reasonable car rental agency for our day. We would be arriving on the Fri April 5 in the morning. Thanks again for your valuable time and help.

Hi--It looks like your agenda has gotten changed. I can't really help re the car rental situation, as it's been way too long since I've rented a car from the cruise port. And regarding vegan, again, no idea. You could check out Bikini, Kontiki and Kakao. Just take a walk down the beach, or drive down the beach and check out their menus.

Hertz is a reputable rental company with rentals at cruise port. Here is their website for online reservations. Keep in mind Liability insurance is included in quote and most all credit cards will cover collision. You just have to state you don't want theirs. They also provide front window sun shield and GPS for free.

Last time that we were in SXM on a cruise we rented from Coastal Car Rental. They are right at the port and we reserved online.

Although we haven't use her from Port, we have used angela@horizoncarrentals.com for many recent trips. She does one day from port. very reliable.
