JetBlue

JetBlue - 03/11/2019 07:09 PM

We are coming back to the island May 25 - June 1st after being away two years. We have always flown Jet Blue out of JFK.....our flights when we booked were great prices at $385 plus taxes....(my husband used points for his entire flight and we paid just for mine). We were booked on the 9:32am flight out of JFK and arriving in SXM at 1:41..(first flight of the morning) coming home we had booked a 2:41 departure out of SXM and arriving back at JFK at 7:11pm...direct flights. these are the flight we always have gotten in the past with no problems....now JetBlue has changed our flight times twice...I just noticed our flight has changed again (without any notification I might add) and our current flight now leaves JFK at 11:51 and arrives at 3:54...leaving to come home we are now booked on a 4:54pm flight out of SXM and arriving back at JFK at 9:22pm.....currently they are still direct flights.
I guess the issue that bothers me the most is that they added a new flight with an hour earlier schedule going down and coming home. I'm trying to understand why they are doing this....is it because of the SXM airport and the crowding on Saturdays? Anyone else having these issues with JetBlue?

Family just arrived on JB from JFK with no issues at all.

Let me correct myself by saying they added another flight going to SXM and coming home to JFK 1 hour before our current flights that we are booked on....

One thing you can be sure of with any flight change on ANY airline is that it is for THEIR convenience, ONLY. And this again proves that Jet Blue is just like all the other airlines..

Try giving them a call (and sign up for all their flight notifications. Sometimes this can be overlooked) And please et us know if they help you out.

We had some time changes (within an hour of flight time) too but always got an email with a tab to click on to CONFIRM the changes.

Captain - We did sign up for notifications....the only way we knew they changed the flight times was to go into our manage flights....I have not accepted the flight change yet....what happens if you don't hit that 'accept' button for your flight change...
I don't understand why they would add a new flight before our flight when we initially booked the flights we were the first flight in the morning....and the first change in times had the new flight leaving and arriving a half hour before our flight...now with the second time change the flights are an hour apart leaving and arriving....

If you haven't accepted the flight change yet, why don't you call them up and ask to be switched to the other flight.

Without accepting the flight change you could be in limbo and at risk of losing your seats if another passenger comes forward to purchase a ticket or wants your seat.

Re: JetBlue - 03/12/2019 05:16 PM

Thanks Scubaman......I looked into maybe changing flights but there is a possibility of a $200 fee per person and whatever the difference in cost of the new flight....We paid a total of $500 and used points so I don't want to have to pay more.....disappointed in Jet Blue....it must be the Saturday madness at the SXM airport?????

Re: JetBlue - 03/12/2019 05:28 PM

Not necessarily, at all. It could have nothing to do with SXM at all. It could have to do with landing/takeoff times at JFK. Or something else all together.

If it's a flight change due to them they usually forgo the charges. Ask for a supervisor.

We have the same problem! Departing June 1st from JFK on Jet Blue and they changed my early flight to the later one. Two planes leaving within 20 minutes of each other for SXM. I don't understand the logic

Princess54....I just called JetBlue and they changed our flights with no questions or extra costs....worth a phone call...
Kudos to Jet Blue!!

YES YES! Glad you called them!

For the record, when they make a flight change, they are usually forgiving change fees as its their fault.

ALWAYS worth the call smile
