Thanks Carol, for sharing this interesting story. Aren't their bigger and more important issues on St. Maarten than drones flying overhead? Like still many businesses that need a boost getting back on their feet or home repairs that are still pending? Though I must admit that if someone was playing with a drone on Maho beach with a plane landing that wouldn't be a good thing. We didn't see a single drone hovering above us last week, and I'm really not sure where I would actually buy one on the island if I had the extra cash to waste!

Oh, there are definitely more important issues on SXM, BUT there are a lot of drones on SXM, and throughout the Caribbean. It is VERY dangerous for drones to operate near airports. That said, I doubt this 'crackdown' has any teeth whatsoever.

We have drones here in Miami constantly. They are rude and intrusive. We have had them hovering, watching us on our patio.
So, I do believe they are an infringement on our privacy and property.
