Our take on Tropicana. Lovely setting, great food & service top notch! Owner always alert to making it right . But, something they should do IMO is not reserve groups larger than 4 people. It's not a large inside area & is really loud & not enjoyable when large groups are using their outdoor voices to yell down the table. I love the place (and their banana vanilla rum) but the group of 10 in January made it so we couldn't communicate across the table. Not the first time this has happened.
Might be a little quieter at lunch. Always had great food there.
I will never forget going there for lunch and waiting an hour for our bill. Even after asking politely THREE times!
We had a really lovely lunch there in June last year, including a FABULOUS Grand Marnier soufflé. We were seated outside by the water, so no issue with noise from other tables.
Same here Carol, that's the way to do it. The Souffle is just prima
Do not agree with you on that. We have been there with our party of 6 and onetime 8 people and were quite civilized with our voices. I've had noisy parties of 4 louder than larger parties at many restaurants. All depends on the patrons.
All depends on the patrons.
So true Dat.........Had a great meal last time at Le Cottage, spoiled by a table of 4 next to us (and that on the balcony) who were loud and obnoxious and once the drunken swearing started, it got out of hand, until the owner handed them the check and asked them to leave or pipe down...........no free rums for them.
Went by there at lunch and heard a loud raucous from inside.
