3/28-4/2 Trip Report - 04/08/2019 07:52 PM

Hello Everyone here is my trip report,

We arrived via American about 20 min early on Thursday 3/28 , boarded the buses and were through immigration in about 20 min total very fast.

We Stayed at Adam and Eve for 5 nights at the end of March 2019. The pictures are completely accurate for the building and the Adam Suite where we stayed (http://www.residence-adam-eve.com/?lang=en) . About ½ the quests were French and the other ½ American. It was not just a hotel, it was more of an experience in French food and culture. You are free to do your own thing or interact with other quests as you wish. Caroline and her husband were perfect hosts, they really made the stay fantastic. You could ask for anything and it would appear shortly after.

The Adam suite had a basic fridge and over with basic cooking supplies. We stopped almost everyday at the Market in the village to stock up on supplies. The rest of the hotel is perfectly clean and put together. The pool and hot tub area is clothing optional, but is very low key. No big deal if you want to wear a suit or wear nothing at all. This was a good choice because my wife prefers to just be topless. Everyone else was nude.
Away from the pool everyone had a beach wrap or other clothing on. Rarely did we see more that one other couple at a time.

We did not rent a car. The walk to the Club O beach was about .75 flat mile from the hotel which was no big deal. However, the walk did get old after a few days. After the beach we went back to the pool and Caroline would make wonderful drinks from the bar. We did this everyday, we are not very adventurous on holiday.Next year when we return they will have their new Catamaran available for charters, it sounds like this will be a perfect replacement for the Tiko Tiko.

Of course, Club O beach was as perfect as always. The Perch has an excellent burger and beers are 3$ each. I used dollars everywhere. On the last day we were short of cash (No ATM in the village) so we went to Kontiki for Lunch, it was terrible and expensive. Perch is way better.

For Dinners, we did Le Pitment for 3 nights, Yellow Sub for one night. On the first night Caroline at Adam Eve made us a wonderful French meal which was served home style with another french couple. This was excellent and I highly recommend a dinner at Adam and Eve.

On the way out our plane was delayed by two hours, we missed our connection in PHL and airline paid for the hotel for the night. We did wait in the check in line for about 1 hour. This was Tuesday 4/2/19

Thanks for the report! I assume there was a charge for your meal at Adam and Eve?

Yes it was 24 Euro per person. Also, they do keep a fridge stocked with Beer and Wine which is additional $$. It is on the honor system, you just write down what you took on your own piece of paper.

Nice report. Thanks for sharing. So anyone (just not guests) can go to Adam & Eve for dinner? Did I read that correctly? Maybe one should call ahead and tell them you're coming to dine with them! Just a few other quick questions. What is the capacity of this hotel from the number of guests it can hold? I always thought of it as a small place, but I might be wrong. Also, if you don't mind what was the daily rate you paid here (just curious)? Just trying to see how this stacks up against a place like Esmeralda. Two things in your report kind of surprised me. Your meal at Kontiki was sub par? And, American Airlines actually paid for your hotel in Philadelphia! I'm stunned! All AA ever did for me in the past is 'jack' me around!

this place looks very interesting, thx for the report. Some of the art work very different and to think you can rent the whole place out for under 5K for the week? The Restaurant interests me..do they allow guests in? What food do you eat and the prices in general. Will definitely chk it out when there.

Hi Everyone, lots of questions, let me try to summarize.

1) I am not sure if they would allow non-guests to come for dinner. I would send an email to caroline@residence-adam-eve.com . BTW, they also make their own Ice Cream which is to die for. They sell it all over the island.
2) They only have 6 rooms
3) It was around 270 i night i think, the cost of 3 nights was 300$ more than Esmeralda total for the 5 nights. I was going to stay at Esmeralda, but it seems they are cracking down on nude swimming.
4) We were delayed in SXM due to a maintenance issue not weather. If its their fault they will pay up. I didn't even need to ask, they had a voucher waiting for us when we got off the plane.
5) I do not think they have a menu, they just asked if we wanted fish or meat. We rolled with it from there. BTW, I think it was 30 Euro a person, not sure they just billed me when i left.

We were at Esmeralda Mar. 13-20. I used our "private pool" nude for a quick dip many times. I'd wear a towel and drop it at the steps. We sat on the porch nude and had wine every afternoon.

Thanks Steve S for the update. When we went to book the hotel they made it a point to tell me "no nudity". I didn't want to look over my shoulder that is why we switched to Adam and Eve, pretty happy with the decision.
