May Day - aka - Our Day to go Home

It’s 8:30 - coffees have been had and there’s still time for one more cup, maybe. Bags are all packed and lined up by the front door and J’s already back from Zee Best with the pastries for home and sandwiches for the plane in the cooler bag. So I guess there’s no kidding ourselves - we really HAVE to leave today. Maybe time for one more cup before we leave. Maybe not.

Jet Blue noonish flight should get us into JFK just in time for rush hour traffic back to CT once we do immigration and luggage and find our driver but it is what it is and if that turns out to be the only bad note in our almost three weeks here, I’m not gonna’ complain. Well, not too much, anyway.

It’s been a wonderful trip and I sincerely thank all who have joined us for coming along. It was great to see old friends and nice to meet some new ones as well. Carole and Larry - I hope the rest of your trip mirrors ours and perhaps we’ll meet up in future travels, and Linda from RI (and company....) perhaps we’ll see you here again in 2021, but in the meantime it was nice to meet you and share island experiences. But until them I am ........

I have to share one more thought. John and I have travelled to SXM almost EVERY year since 1973 - we may have missed a couple but I don’t think so. If I were to guess, we’ve probably gone at least 65 x 70 times. This is the very first time in all those years and trips I have ever heard John say.......

“ I really don’t want to go home!! “

Never, in all these years, trips and weeks here has he said this to me. Usually after ten days he’s more than ready to go home. I am stunned....... one more piece of magic I will attribute to our stay here at BSV!!

Pat--you're very welcome. I would attribute John's statement to your short stay there at BSV. In November you have a much longer stay there, I think.

Thanks for all the posts, Pat. It has been enjoyable reading the updates. It looks like on the Holland House webcam, the island is now getting some rain. It must be sad to see you go! Safe travels.

We'll miss your posts. Glad you enjoyed the stay. I know what you mean about not wanting to leave. Last March was the first time Don said he hated to leave. And unlike past trips he's already talking about the return.

We'll be at trip 25 this Fall Pat and David says it every trip. I'm like your husband, love it but after 2 weeks I'm ready to return home.

Life is great for us that use our head on the Island . Bless and always thanks we are personal friends period. lol

Welcome back. Our weather has been slow in improving but is finally starting to green up and maybe soon we'll be able to open the windows and let the fresh air in. Thanks for he pix, they bring back pleasant memories.
