Thank you for sharing all this, Wendy. If I’m reading correctly, both governments should be absolutely ashamed of their actions. Or perhaps, their INACTIONS. A place that once was and should still be an island attraction is left in a state of chaos because the governments can’t get their stuff together.

Sounds like more of what both governments are famous for - TALK, TALK, TALK with no sincere efforts at resolution in sight.

I agree! I remember kissing my new husband on the international bridge in Captain Olivers and dancing on the dance floor as newlyweds. The Dutch side has been collecting taxes from Captain Oliver's for a hotel that is on the French side and Leasing water rights as well not even knowing where the border is. If SXM wants to attract investors to either side this must be resolved in a timely manner!

So sad for Maggi and the Oyster Pond area. Another example of Government "talk" but no action.

Government seems to be very good at talking without following through, that is unless you owe them money or they can find a way to fine/lien you because your lawn is too long. This is a simple situation that could be resolved in 10 minute mediation.
