No, this is not good at all. But, for an island where 75 percent of the population lives below the poverty line and 22 percent of the population has no income whatsoever it is not surprising that these numbers are on the rise for this period as recovery for Irma is still taking place. In addition, 43 percent of those who call St. Martin home have no secondary school education. It will likely take time, but if tourism dollars can serve the residents of SXM better in the future then maybe those gun laws will take hold and the numbers will decline. Imagine what the gun violence rate might be without banning guns?

Don't want to get a political thread going but if law abiding citizens were alowed to have them then these criminals might think twice before commiting crimes. Just saying.
