Winding down

Winding down - 11/07/2019 12:24 PM

Two more full days before we have to depart. We bid adieu to another couple with the 6 of us remaining. Beachside Villas has welcomed more guests, some we know others we do not. I believe it is a “full house” here.
It doesn’t get old saying, another picture perfect day with the sun shining, a nice breeze and no humidity.

Mike and I went to Tortuga Café located at the Royal Islander for lunch. We tried to park in the underground garage where Maho Express is but security guard told us it is for guests of the hotel only. We were able to pull out and park in the underground lot at the end of the plaza before you leave the Maho downtown area. When you depart the cost is $3.

We both ordered identical lunches. Two cheeseburgers served on a black and white sesame bun with 2 onion rings on top, lettuce & tomato and a special sauce, fries served on the side in a paper cone. Both burger and fries were delicious and the view of Maho beach where the planes arrive was glorious.

It was comfortable to dine and sipping on Pina Coladas made lunch that much more enjoyable. No service charge was added to our bill.

The remaining six of us went to Greenhouse for dinner after hanging out by the pool for the rest of the afternoon at BSV.

Found parking on ground level and the other car (ours) in Greenhouse parking lot up the hill. Tonight was steak night although by 7:45 pm they had most of the steak specials crossed off the paper menu. I ordered the 9 oz. lobster tail which came with 2 sides. The market price was $40.99. It was sweet & succulent with a nice small tossed salad and baked potato. They are making the complimentary Johnny Cakes much smaller but they are so heavy it’s a good thing as I would have never come close to finishing my meal. The others had a variety of dishes which they thoroughly enjoyed. Service charge added. BTW, Michael (manager) noted they will be closed a couple of days next week for repairs and will be upgrading the bathrooms with a/c and added another ladies room.

Made our way over to the Casino Royale to make what we hoped would be a withdrawal. Maho was busy for a Wednesday night. Lots of people in the casino, 3 Amigos and around the street in general. Most made a deposit but happy to say hubbie made a withdrawal.

Carol, I too, forgot all about your French Fry tour... They were excellent, one of the better ones I had on the island this trip. It's been years since I've been to Tortuga and so glad we made it back. The rest of the gang really missed out staying back at BSV. Louise and I had a lovely lunch.

I'll add that at the Greenhouse, I had the ribs, which were fall off the bone good and very flavorful.
