Update on Meeting of the " Heads Together"/French side Talks

Sounds somewhat optimistic for the future. Let's hope so.

The meetings with Cedric and other reps are over for now. All quiet on the French side?

No idea, your guess is as good as mine. From what I see on other social media, there are still (partial) blockages in Sandy Ground that require some maneuvering to get around. Also, mention of some locals actually helping guide tourists around and other mention of some trying to charge ($$) tourists to pass through.

Right now all's quiet on French St Martin. Been to Marigot for dinner twice. Our friends staying on Dutch side near Gibbs Bay made a wrong turn and ended up at Sandy Ground. Helpful people helped them maneuver the debris to get through. Very friendly to them. Everyone we have met on French side friendly. Drivers stopping to let us out from stop signs. Gendarmes are present on the roads driving around. French local police went by us last night in Marigot while we were in bistro de la Mer. Went to Philipsburg today & met lady with face cream. She asked what do I use on my face. I said " nothing, isn't it amazing! " and we walked on. 😁
People approach on the boardwalk but no one has been aggressive at all. Two special words " no thanks" . Or we stay on the island not on a ship. Everyone we encountered was pleasant. Much different from last year. Everything better. Ate lunch at chesterfield on the water. Quite lovely.
So far no issues, weather beautiful. Got my banana vanilla rum bottle from Tropicana!

Not liking this group picture of all the ones causing these riots... The guy with the 3 shaved into his head scares me the most!

I am well aware of the devotion to Cedric saving Club Orient Beach but I will not fund his socialist agenda which puts tourists in desperate situations that they need to abandon their rental cars and charter boats to get off the island during these protests. It is not a one way street and when it becomes blocked at least let tourist know in advance before being put in a situation which could cause possible injury.

I'm not sure why a certain haircut scares you, nor do I think there is any value to speculating about the source of your fear. But we can all look for opportunities to listen to the residents of St. Martin, rather than hastily judging them by their haircuts.

Maybe it was an over reaction but my brother was killed by a MS13 gang member on Long Island ... Sorry that the hair cut sparked a post that is of course not related.

My brothers throat was slit in an Isip Park for no reason...

Gangs form from unrest and the youth buring cars and joing this protest, will join gangs that fuel this unrest.

Wendy--I wondered whether you thought that the person with that haircut was a gang member. I know there are gangs on SXM, but have no idea what they use to identify themselves. And there is no question that some gangs did take advantage of this situation. One would hope that this group does not include gang members.

Let's just all try to forget the rest of the stuff about a socialist agenda..
