Day 4

Day 4 - 01/28/2020 04:14 PM

Day 4 - A little shower before we got up and only a few small boats in dock, so we needed an outdoor activity. Parrotville, a favorite, was our choice. George and Valentine were there as well as 150 or more of their favorite feathered friends. Towards the end of our visit, a school group of little kids came. Always fun to watch kids and the birds. As long as we were up that way, we went up and got gas at Cadisco. $1.07/liter. Lunch was a Burger @ Snoopy's. Comes with fries and added cheese - $13.00. Dinner tonight was at Dingy Dock. Always love their "Worst Fish and Chips". Talked to Seth a bit. Then a walk around the building to Ultimate Casino. Betty even, Norm up big.

Thanks for the report and pics! We need to get back to Parrotville. Cool place! Is Ultimate Casino the one where the Gourmet Marche used to be, in Simpson Bay? Do they have table games??

Please correct me if I'm mistaken, but is the Ultimate Casino formerly the Hollywood Casino adjacent to Isola? And reading that someone is "up big" encourages me. Like Carol asked, slots or tables games or a combination of both? Just may have to visit the casino again (they definitely owe me from past visits).

To my knowledge Hollywood Casino is this Hollywood Casino. I believe Ultimate Casino is located in the old Le Grand Marche building close to Dingy Dock in Simpson Bay.

Sammy--no, the Ultimate Casino is not Hollywood, unless it has changed to that in the past couple of months.

Thanks, all ... I will have to check this out in March. But, with a controlled casino budget allowance.

Norm, Nice photographs. Where were you when you took the photos on the hill? Might have to visit that location.

The Ultimate Casino IS in the building that used to be Grande Marche. Lal's and Dinghy Dock are also in the same building at opposite corners facing the lagoon.
Larry, The landscape pics were taken from the end of Pearl Dr, outside of our Villas fences.

Thanks Norm. Do they have table games, or just slots?

How is parking at the casino?

Heard Toppers villa is a compound with multiple floors and an elevator? The security is a non issue staying there. Where is the pool on the roof? When are you moving to your OBBR unit?

Multiple floors. Years back topper told me one floor was for his mother.

Parking at Ultimate Casino was easy. 'Course it was only about 6:30pm when we parked.

There are perhaps twp levels for Topper and family. The rented Studio is on the bottom floor. There is no elevator that I have seen. They are building more rooms on the basement level but no where close to being ready. If you look on Air BnB site for Cleavage Villa you can see the layout.
I'm not staying at OBBR this trip. Fact is, I'm getting ready to sell my week.

Wow - this surprises me. If I may ask, is it because the MFs are getting too high? Or other reason? If you prefer to not answer, I understand.

Re: Day 4 - 01/30/2020 01:43 PM

Linda, I bought an original floating week at OBBR in 1997. Recently they have been selling "fixed" weeks. I didn't want to commit the money to upgrade nor did I want to lose my flexibility. It's becoming more difficult to use my "floating" week during "prime time". Maintenance fees have been very reasonable. Went up a little this past December for first time in a couple years. still under $900./year.
