Some Airlines Asking to Reduce Service - 04/29/2020 12:31 PM

No idea how or if this may impact SXM IF approved, but these airlines have serviced SXM in the past.

Just be prepared when all this ends to pay unbelievable air fares. There will be less flights, maybe no selling middle seats, so those “good guys” will be holding all the cards. Remember the reason for the baggage fees was oil at $100 a barrel so they had to charge baggage fees because your bags made the aircraft heavier. Oil has been nowhere near that price in years, did the baggage fees go way, nope, just went up. And let’s not talk about another ripoff, the change fee. I wouldn’t doubt they make more on fees than actual ticket sales. 10 years of record profits and a month after this Covid stuff started they are broke and need billions of dollars from the government for a bailout. I wonder what happened to all those profits. Wasn’t more than a couple of months ago Delta gave all their employees a months pay bonus because of their record profits, very nice gesture. So how did all their money go in such a short time? The airlines get away with anything they want to do and nobody ever questions anything they do, like Congress. Feel sorry for all the employees that will be hurt by this.

At the moment airfare for our March 2021 timeshare dates from Detroit on United is over $1800 for economy and $5000 for 1st. OUCH!

I can't imagine anyone actually paying that kind of money.

Have you checked Delta or AA? I was able to put some dates together using AA going down and Delta coming back for a very good price compared to what I usually pay for March.

I have found that when those first available dates are listed and priced out they are extremely high then few days later greatly reduced.

I have noticed the same thing about the flight pricing. I booked our lodging for the first two weeks of November at the end of our last years trip in Nov.i looked at airfare as soon as it was available and rates were over $1,000 per person from Newark and they stayed high for several months and I booked for about $450 per ticket and if I waited a few weeks it went down to under $300 per ticket. No regrets as once I see a good rate I jump on it as it can easily go higher.

Want to make all the Bull💩 stop? End Lobbying! Get big business out of the Politicians Pockets! It’s flat out Bribery! It’s not a political statement. It’s legal illegality, and it needs to go away.
