Talked to an ER Nurse tonight who works in the Chicago suburbs. I asked her if there is one thing that might bring someone over the edge on Covid 19 cases -- what is it. She said morbidly obese. I said do you know why, she said that's determined by how many body bags she brings to morgue. She sees many people and many ages and many overweight people presenting with the disease, and most are recovering. But she did reiterate it is the morbidly obese that--in Chicago area -- are not surviving this pandemic. I have not heard that on the news before. She also said that that two years from now we will know so much more than today. Also said they have come a long way in knowing how to treat the very different stages of pandemic that are presented every day. I asked if her hospital gave everyone who died a covid 19 death certificate even if they had underlying circumstances, and she said as far as she know, yes. They would not have died if the Covid 19 were not present. I say two or three causes of death should be presented, she agreed, but pandemic rules right now. Does that skew the numbers -- maybe.

This is not new news. Obesity has always been on the list of vulnerability with Covid 19, it is also one of the leading causes of deaths in the USA with out the virus. This is a top factor on why the United States virus death rate is where it is today. The USA has a severe obesity problem and it’s only getting worse. While everyone seems to want to fill themselves with their favorite toxic fast food and or junk foods, they are also killing themselves at the same time. This is why I cringe when I see American Fast Food Chains poisoning the Dutch Side of the island! Perhaps dietary lessons will be learned from this or maybe not - only time will tell what comes out of this horrible pandemic!

Yes. I have always been amazed at the long lines of cars at the driveup windows of Burger King and Mac Donalds almost every evening. Why natives prefer that food to the other great inexpensive food available is puzzling.

People all over the world eat fast food, when I'm in the US, there's one on almost every corner. Mac Donalds has a HUGE store in Marigot.
