I read that was one of the factors why Diamond has pushed the reopening into early spring. Was also stated that if nothing was affected to slow down construction that they would be able to open earlier. Was indicated that it takes about 2 weeks prior to a major storm to secure all materials and another 2 weeks to re group to get started again. Time and mother nature will dictate.

Just more hype from the NOAA. I mean when have you heard them say there would be a below average season. That wouldn’t create a panic like this forecast will. The media jumps all over this, you know they love death and destruction. It will be just like other years around August they will revise it downward. They can’t get the weather right in the next 24 hours, how can anyone take a hurricane forecast seriously for the rest of summer and fall. I do live on the Texas coast so I have been through a few hurricanes.

Its a little Island in the middle of a big ocean. It happens but you still have to be very unlucky to get a direct hit. I have been going to SXM over 25 years and never had a second thought or problem going during hurricane season. To me the weather is some of the best of the year, calm clear seas and winds, not as crowded and better prices.

Good for you and hope it is a smooth and great trip.
Need More like you to get back in the water and spur airline/lodging demand back to normal and save these businesses and overall economy of USA and SXM.
