Sorry to hear that, and I guess you can't go through the US still, right??

Part of my problem is I have a large credit with Sunwing ( govt. said credits, no refunds) So I'm kind of tied down, Sunwing has limited options!

Yeah, that really sucks. For once, the US position toward airlines is much better.

Why do you think Canadians can't fly through the US?

Aren't borders currently closed between US and Canada?

They are closed to driving across, however you can fly across. Makes sense?????? Not!

Like SURICK said you can't drive (or in my case, walk across) but if you do fly, there is a 14 day isolation requirement as well when you return. Not something I would like.

The only Canadian aircraft I have seen land in SXM is one Air Sprint out of Montreal....fractional ownership airline

We would not fly from Canada to SXM. Easiest way would be to fly AA from Toronto to Miami or Charlotte and then down. As a Canadian though we have to test to get to SXM, test to return home and then quarantine for 14 days. So ....... many do not think that the effort is worth it. Our P.M has told us not to leave the country. Several Canadian politicians and others that have left the country to go on vacation are finding that it was not a smart thing to do. Several have had to resign their positions because of their actions. We just need to ride out this pandemic until things improve. Since Pfizer has cut back vaccine shipments, I am thinking that it is going to be sometime until people do get the vaccine.

Apparently we could fly to Florida and get vaccinated!!!

I just read now that one of Ontario's vaccination task force resigned because she travelled out of the country in December.

George--I don't know whether you could or not. Technically in our county, they are not supposed to vaccinate people from outside the US.

I hope that is the case. US residents should be only ones right now.

Florida's system is f*ed up, for sure. But none of this has anything to do with the initial topic.
