Day 2.5

Day 2.5 - 02/03/2021 10:22 PM

Last night went to Yacht Club for pre dinner drinks. Got the grouper fingers, neither of us like fish but gave it a shot. I’m sure they are good just not for us. Upon leaving we did get to see our first yacht pass through the bridge. Usually we come here in August so not to many yachts due to hurricane season approaching. The yacht was Te Manu, so of course had to google it to find all the details. We won’t be chartering it anytime soon.

Had dinner at The Palms. Ordered the drunken ribs and Dana ordered the lasagna knowing that we would be sharing. The ribs are a St Louis rib instead of baby rack which we prefer, but still delicious. Brought back for a late lunch today. The lasagna mentioned spicy in the description which immediately frightened me as I don’t like spicy food. Fortunately it was not spicy in my opinion. Was very good. Service was outstanding, waited on by the female owner and another younger gal. Ordered two drinks apiece and bill came up to $82.

This morning Dana joined me for a walk. There is a path leading down from our villa to the walking path between Friars and Happy Bay. It joins it midway. Not bad going down but coming back up the hill can be “sweaty”. We walked to Friars and then to Happy and back. The pool was calling at 7am after that hike.

Spent the day at Happy Bay, Danny was open but didn’t partake. We brought our own. Maybe 20 people at the beach. There was a excursion boat that came in but left within an hour. The sand came back partially to the left of Danny’s bar but still not much room to stay there. We went far right and there was an easy entry and exit into the water. We’ve been there sometimes where it is very rocky getting in the water but today it was very smooth. Lazy day today, but that’s our MO for our trips here. To many beaches, not enough time. Heading to Orient for dinner tonight, don’t know where yet, will check out the menu boards. Not really into French food, suggestion?

Heading to Orient tomorrow. Don’t particularly care for those “rubber band loungers” at old Club O, is there someone else that rents chairs with pads on that side of beach?

Thanks for the update. I have had the lasagna at The Palms and always enjoyed it. I much prefer baby back ribs as well. Looking forward to more updates.

Not on that side but you could go to Ace hardware and buy pads to take with you. Only others that have padded loungers are on other side like Bikini Beach which isn't totally CO.

Actually there are padded loungers at the northern end of the CO beach near where Pedro's was. About 20 or so.

Good to know. I stand corrected. 👍

Thanks for the report. I'm sure you have already left for Orient Village. But for future reference, I would recommend Al Dente, on the road to Orient, and pretty much any restaurant in the square at Orient Village. Just drive up and walk around and see what looks good!!!
