Day 8

Day 8 - 03/21/2021 05:17 AM

And another in the books. Woke up this morning to very overcast day, and some sprinkles. With that , we decided to stay put at Royal Islander, and around noon went out to the pool. Few more minutes of light showers, and it was over. The other day i reported how great the Maho beach was in front of RI. Well today, that all changed. Very little sand left, the huge rocks under the stairs are all exposed, and the rocks on the sea bottom are still there. Probably about a six to eight ft. drop of sand and water in less than forty eight hours!!! Oh, the beauty of SXM. Hopefully in a few days, it will return again.

Did spend a lovely afternoon, after lunch at Tortuga, IN the pool. Just a
nice relaxing way to enjoy a ''strange weather'' day. H

Tonight we went to Lee's. First time back there since they moved and reopened. Well...once again, as my usual there, had the ribs, while my wife enjoyed some type of fresh fish. My ribs were as good as always, dry rubbed, flavored nicely, I enjoyed them immensely. Had no trouble parking in the lot up the hill from the restaurant...but if it gets busy, not sure how the parking situation would be. Service was very good also. Pretty sure we will be back there sometime during the two weeks remaining.

Hoping to spend the day tomorrow at Orent back at LeString. Here's hoping for good weather. More to follow.

We had pretty steady rain most of the morning here at Simpson Bay Resort with a few heavy downpours. The afternoon was delightful if a bit cooler than usual.

Thanks for the report! Remember that Orient Beach on Sundays is often PACKED with locals. A good crowd watching day perhaps, but sometimes service suffers. And if you haven't already left, remember the road to Club O is now closed, as was posted here a day or so ago.
