Baie Longue/aux Prunes

Baie Longue/aux Prunes - 04/29/2021 03:27 PM

Heading back for first time since 2016. Did a quick search and didn't find any threads newer than 2019, so question- Anyone know the status of Baie Longue and/or Baie aux Prunes? Beach erosion, crime, crowds, etc? We have previously stayed in Terres Basses and have had amazing experiences on these beaches to name a few.

Thanks!

We stayed in Plum Bay for 3 weeks in February. Beaches are as nice as ever. Fewer people than normal (not that there has ever been what I would call a crowd).

Plum Beach and Long Beach (except at La Samanna) have been virtually deserted each time I went there, in recent years.

We stopped in Plum bay on an boat excursion 2 years ago and we were the only ones there. The sand was great with no erosion. The only complaint i had was that the end they dropped us off on, which I guess was the north end, was extremely rocky.

We are finally going back to SXM in 30 days and we intend to visit Baie aux prunes for the first time one day of our trip. I'm trying to find some good info on parking because some have said it could be difficult if you don't know where you are going. We found a decent video on youtube with directions.

I will be there in 15 days....The gazebo that you will see is in front of President Trump's villa. It is still for sale, as far as I know...

Thanks for the info. For those who asked about parking, there is a lot directly in front of the entrance to Baie aux Prunes. I've never seen more than two cars in the lot. Should not be an issue.

We spent Friday morning at Plum Beach, shared with one other couple on the beach. A few tourists came and went to photograph Donald Trump's gorgeous villa, Then a fisherman showed up, It was lovely sitting there, gazing at the beautiful turquoise water and the lovely boats sailing by.
