Club Orient Beach Erosion

Club Orient Beach Erosion - 07/24/2021 01:28 AM

At first visit, i thought the surf had picked up a beach chalet, concrete and all, and taken it towards the water.

On closer look, one sees there is now water on 3 sides of papagayos where the covered picnic table eating area was and the foundation is buckling.

As for the beach chalets, the surf is doing a number on several of them undermining the slabs.

Not sure what/if anything is salvageable 4 years hence.

Did not hear any great chit/chat rumors on anything happening on rebuild we havent already heard.

Water on three sides of Papagayo? It just keeps getting worse. That section of beach has only gotten smaller and smaller ever since the Club O rebuild following Hurricane Luis (1995-96). Here are some photos showing how severe the erosion has been. They range in date from the early 1990's to the last one which was taken in June 2017.
