Health emergency declared for St. Martin - 01/06/2022 02:31 PM

As of now, no specific rules changes, but the article seems to indicate curfews are coming again. Possibly they will start really enforcing requiring proof of vaccination for restaurants, etc?

What was the curfew last time? I assume last time they didn't close down restaurants or other businesses?

I’m searching for an official announcement, but It’s looking like the French side will have a Curfew 11PM - 6AM, all restaurants will require proof of vaccination, all discos/nightclubs will be closed, and that the new measures will take effect on January 7.

Tom--There were various time limits on the curfew. When we were on island in June, it was 8 PM. That seriously s*cked. If, as Bahston says, it will be 11 PM, that's not horrible.

8 o'clock curfew is not a problem? Or 11? 8 o'clock curfew is a big problem if you want to eat on the French side for dinner, and get back to the Dutch side before 8.

Make that Midnight - 05:00 for the curfew, and they left out the proposed inclusion of vaccination pass requirements and the closure of discos/nightclubs.

From the Prefecture's Facebook page:

Covid-19 / Degradation of the health situation: establishment of a curfew.
Due to the significant increase in the number of cases of Covid-19 in all the territories of Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy, the Prefect Serge GOUTEYRON has decided to implement a curfew from this Friday January 07, 2022 from 24h00 to 5h00 in accordance with the order RAA-2022-002 (http: //www.saint-barth-saint-martin.gouv.fr /.../ RAA-2022 ...) of Thursday 6 January 2022. The measure will then be evaluated according to the health situation.
Travel between these times will be prohibited except on presentation of a personal or professional derogatory certificate. Certificates can be generated using the following link by clicking on the "curfew" tab: https://media.interieur.gouv.fr/attestation-deplacement.../
Cooperation remains constant with the authorities of Sint-Maarten in order to continue as far as possible a coordinated development of the measures taken.

Doesn't sound like they are to concerned with vax proof or masking up.

I have not seen this link posted, thought it maybe helpful. Good news only 88 new cases from yesterday to today (I keep print screens to count). Before it was around 180 a day. Sadly it was only 20 in early Dec. I assume this is only for the Dutch side. Anyone have a french side link?

What's disheartening are the deaths and hospitalizations of fully vaccinated.

Case numbers for St Martin and St Barth are only published once each week, and they don't always get published. Look at the Facebook page for Préfet de Saint-Barthélemy et de Saint-Martin at https://www.facebook.com/prefet971 There were 1104 new cases last week (week 52, 12/27 - 1/2) , and already another 992 cases (out of 3411 tests) this week.

Hospitilized: Six...which is down one from yesterday and it's split evenly 3/3 vacc'ed vs. not vacc'ed BUT no mention of how many shots per vacc'ed person is mentioned

Edit: I should add that those patients admitted to the hospital were positive FOR the virus which does not mean that they were admitted BECAUSE of the virus. An appendectomy patient could be one of those positive stats.
