MSC Ship Home Porting in SXM? - 05/07/2022 01:53 PM

Hi All.

I read some time ago on this forum that MSC was considering this.

Can anyone tell me if this actually happened? If yes, still happening? One ship, or more?

Thanks!

ps, was in SXM and Anguilla a few weeks ago. Will send a report when I get a minute.

Yes MSC Seaview departed on Sundays around 11pm at night.
They had 7 day cruises that included Barbados, Dominica and the BVIs.
That was this past January February and March. I believe that ship is now in the Mediterranean. Not sure about future plans. You could probably check online.

Thanks! I'll do so, now that I know what to check.

I think there were three ships, including MSC, that home ported in SXM this winter. Good for SXM businesses and hotels.

Unfortunately I believe at the time the decision to leave from Sint Maarten was based on other ports affected by covid. It looks like upcoming itineraries that are posted at this time do not depart from Sint Maarten. There is one ship called the Seabourn Ovation which will depart from Philipsburg next January February and March of 2023. Prices aren't for the faint of heart unfortunately.
But of course you never know between now and then new cruises could pop up. Good luck in your search.
