Nice for vehicle traffic not getting held up for openings.

Have you EVER been held up at the Causeway bridge? I think we have been held up once there, for about two minutes.

It is concerning to me that this has happened, as the Causeway is not that old. It seems like maybe proper maintenance has not been done?

Yes. Twice the first week we were here.

I guess maybe it may be based on the time of year, as we'd never had any issues with it. And the one time it was closed, it was like two minutes, not like the other bridge, which can be a good half hour, to get all the traffic cleared.

The bridges are part of life of living in a safe harbor lagoon. Normal. We never bitched about it.
SXMScubaman. Maybe you should go to an island without bridges? Plenty of those.

Don't think I've ever seen the Causeway bridge open, and we can see it from our Patio, have been caught a few times at the Simpson Bay Bridge.

My first thought is for that yellow tourist boat which gives a kind of party cruise around the lagoon. I hope they fit under so the party doesn't have to stop.

Did I say it caused a problem for me. NO. So I don't appreciate your comment. I enjoy St Maarten and traffic is not a problem for me. I navigate the island and the bridge openings and plan accordingly.

This past March we were held up a couple of times going to and from Carrefour mid morning. Longest maybe 10-15 minutes.

We were held up for a couple of minutes yesterday for boats. Held up a lot longer at airport with a motorcycle under a bus. Right on the circle. Hope the rider was okay.

That doesn't sound like good news for the motorcycle rider, dueling with a bus. Didn't see anything about it in the DH today, but I think there is no paper because of the holiday.

I drove over the causeway several times yesterday. There are workers physically there on the bridge trying to identify and correct the issues.

The workers and their vehicles didnt affect traffic.
