Raining Marks

Raining Marks - 09/02/2022 11:21 PM

After 16 days of sunshine, the island was blessed with some good intermittent rain
Was hoping for it to clear but just before 12:00 decided to drive over to Marks as we usually don't drive that far (probably 15 minutes) for lunch
Traffic was backed up most of the way and it took much longer but it was worth the change of pace

Mussels form France had not arrived so I switched up my decision

We shared crab balls and acras (fish fritters), the crab was tasty but doesn't compare to the crab cakes we get in Baltimore
The acaras was a generous portion and not spicy as mentioned on menu, I will need to make them at home

My wife ordered the chicken and ribs and said they were much better than captain rib shack by far
Changing my order from mussels to the pan fried grouper was a good decision
The grouper only needed a sneeze of lemon and was not over cooked, the scalloped potatoes were nice and cheesy
We had island friendly service, that enough makes it worth a return visit

After a quick stop at Carrefour for some last day items, we gassed up and picked up a few more calories at Succiere
Best to hit the bakery earlier in the day

Mark's is always good for a hearty meal for a good price, with huge portions! Their mac and cheese is very good, for sure, as is their garlic bread.

Our last trip, we I guess made the 'mistake' of going to Le Suciere on a Sunday morning. The line was literally out the door!!! Great stuff there!
