Controls were recently carried out on St Barth for the required posting of certain prices, price discrepancies (menu vs. check), best-use dates, and tipping, among others. Same Prefect, so it if it happens on St Barth then it will happen on St Martin.

I was two clubs down from Todd today not realizing until after!!! It was interesting to watch the controls take place. Space was being measured and pictures were being taken. At issue is mainly Rainbow and Java who just did whatever they wanted with no regards for the beaches - according to people we spoke with. A gendarme was with the politicians and “nature foundation” people - not sure there actual names.

I would guess that the structures being built at Rainbow are at least some of the cause for this. They seemed to be pushing the limits.

Todd--thanks for the picture. The French side does seem to be a little more on the ball with regard to protection of the beaches.
