Tipping Private Yacht Crew - 09/04/2023 03:30 PM
I know this topic has been batted around in past posts, but I would love a refresh. For crews on private boats who are paid a salary by the owners, what is the norm when the owners are aboard?

I think we tipped $100 for a full day, small family for single crew member.

Captain - Were you the owner of the boat?

My husband has a Tshirt that says…” the captain is always right. I’m the captain”.

Ditto what the non-captain Captain said. We tip $100/crewmember/day - whether Cap only or Cap and First Mate. Wer also buy them lunch, if we drop the hook for lunch somewhere. Crew has always seemed happy enough with this.
Cheers
