Beautiful day. Awoke to the rising sun streaming in our windows. Could it get any better?! Yup!! Coffee and fresh pastries on the rear porch while watching the waves roll in. I could get really used to this!!

Had some errands to do that took us in the general vicinity of Mark’s Place so lunched there. John had a beautiful seafood salad plate and I enjoyed the first chicken sate with peanut sauce that I’ve had since Cafe Juliana went away. It was yummy!

Stopped into Carrefour market for a few things and then Zee Best to replenish our dwindling supplies. And finally, home sweet home. Made plans to join friends for dinner tonight.

There were seven of us and we thought we’d meet at Maho and try Roma having heard so many great reviews. I kept trying to call for a reservation but couldn’t get through beyond a recording saying ‘please leave a message’ so off we all went, only to get there and discover they’re closed on Wednesdays which explains why I couldn’t get through……

Decisions re change of dinner venue made on the fly and we decided on the Brasserie next door to Bar Code in Jordan Village. As it turned out it was a good choice. The atmosphere was typical, the acoustics were terrible, the food was enjoyable and the prices were reasonable. The company was absolutely outstanding!. The menu offered a full range of choices and the only complaint I heard (and had….) was they needed more garlic in the escargot!. Interesting conversations all around the table.

Got home about ten or so. Some may have made one last deposit at the casino but we headed home and to lalaland. One of the couples heads home and will be 29 hours and one overnight in transit. Now that’s what I call hopelessly devoted!

Glad you all had fun. I tried texting Mike to tell him that Romei said was closed because we were eating at Mr. Chow. He probably was already on the road without Wi-Fi so wouldn’t have seen my text.

David and I needed a “date night” otherwise we would have joined y’all. Glad second choice was good.

By the way, I posted Mr. chow is a definitely good choice if you like Asian food which it’s my favorite cuisine. There’s a mix of Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese with some teriyaki so I’d say in Japanese. No sushi but plenty of sushi restaurants on the island so a non issue for us.

And if you eat at the bar or the high tops you can order from either side!!! Works for us!

We went to Brasserie last trip. I enjoyed my meal, but Eric's beef was VERY fatty and virtually inedible. Too bad, as I love having another French restaurant on the Dutch side.

Sounds like things are going well. You can't go wrong with Mark's Place.
