Airport Drinks After Arrival?

A friend is landing about a 1/2 hour before I do. After he gets outside, is there anyplace to grab a quick drink while he waits for us to get out? I know there is a food truck, but anywhere for a libation? Thanks!

Can’t think of any place. With the turmoil at arrivals it may be a lot longer than half an hour or you may even get out before he does depending on the luggage situation.

Tim--not to mention, airline delays, either making the second person get in later, or making the first person get in after the other person. Jeanne--where are you staying? Might be better to just plan to meet at the hotel, if it's close.

I know that food truck serves beer, and at one time also had Ti-Punch. They might still have limited mixed drinks.

Yes. He can walk out and there is one or two food trucks. He can crab a snack and beer or soda

I saw multiple mentions of 6+hours in line and then another 1-2 hours to get luggage.

6+!! Good grief.

Arrivals have been bad, but I don't understand why yesterday was so exponentially worse? And aren't there going to be even more planes today? I can't imagine 6 hours in line. That just doesn't make sense.

I agree....the math doesn't work....so a maybe 2pm arrival got out of the airport around 10pm? (6+2)...on a Friday?

Edit to add: although United, American, JetBlue and Delta all arrived within a 30 minute period....even with that six + two hours seems a bit much

Saw those reports on Facebook too. Hope it was exaggerations for those arriving. Today could be worse

That's not true but yes , yesterday we waited for three hours for all of our arrivals.

There may have been some exaggerations but even at 3 hours, that is unacceptable.

There are at least 5 US carriers scheduled to arrive today within a 2-hour window, Air Transat is delayed and then more US carriers and Air France a couple of hours later. I would expect today to be no better and likely worse.

I’m on the plane in CLT now. We “departed” on time, however, after we pushed back the pilot announced that we were going to be sitting here (on the tarmac) due to the “flow” in SXM for an hour and 10 minutes….

Thanks! Going to need it….. I’m hoping that maybe SXM arrival won’t be a sh!t show, but not overly optimistic at this point!

Looks like AA 2504 will be 27 minutes late arriving from CLT (so far)

We were about a 1/2 hour late, but through immigration and got luggage and were outside shortly after 5 pm. I was pleasantly surprised!

Good deal. It appears things went better than on Friday but I wonder if the staggering of arrivals made for any delayed departures and then missed connections? Enjoy!
