Has anyone signed the letter and sent it back?

Sounds like most people so far either haven't decided or won't sign it?

I sent an email back to them today asking what a "hotel room" means. Do they mean the rooms at the back of Building C (one bed, one bathroom) or the timeshare 1,2,3 bedroom units? If the whole thing is being turned into a "hotel" then I wouldn't mind paying my maintenance fees to stay in what used to be our timeshare units. I'll see what I get back. That will determine if I sign it back. They are asking for a copy of our passport however, and THAT will NOT happen.

I still feel sick about the whole thing though... this shouldn't have happened.

Let us know if you get a response.

Has anyone tried calling the phone number that was on the email?

I got the email, will not be signing and sending back in its current state. I have left them messages to call me and emails to reply back to me, prior to the letters Maria was communicating but since it has been zilch.

Todd - thanks for the info. I won't hold my breath trying to get an email response from them.

Do you know if Ozzie is still working there?

I have a relative who has called but told..."she (Minerva and Maria) has stepped away..." on two different/dates occasions.

I received the letter as well and called and emailed them back, but no response to either from them.
I will not be signing the letter either.

Not surprising that they aren't responding to calls or emails, but I wonder if they will then use the fact that someone called or emailed to prove they received the notice?

I would imagine that the personnel there has been instructed not to answer any phone inquiries in this matter leaving email to the company the only alternative which are easy to ignore.

That could well be true, but the email did say for people to call if they had any questions.

We received our letter but have not attempted to contact them. Reading everyone else's attempted contact, Alegria is non-responsiveness. The letter says call/contact us with questions and yet they don't make themselves available. Totally shameless and unscrupulous if you ask me.

I realize that the hurricane messed things up for a bit but has anybody gotten a response to an email yet? We had sent them one earlier and followed it up again on 10/17.

As the saga drags along it seems there is a requested meeting between Ray(new owner), the Government and Scotia bank this week. Will it happen? Will anything come out of it? Could this be the latest cause of response delay? Who knows.

So far we have opinions on all of this, some made by the new owner. End game, who knows. I certainly do not, I do not speak dutch and am not part of the government. But, I will accept bribes!

I am not signing, and I have not received a phone call back or an email back since very early in all of this where I did have a pleasant conversation with Maria.

Cheers,

We (Lena & I) have not received the letter or any other communication from Alegria. We are arriving on November 1st but had traded into Royal Islander for our 2 week stay because we have not been happy with the maintenance of Caravanserai over the past 3 years (green pool several times, no elevator, ect.) We will not be signing the letter even if it does arrive before we head down there but at this point I doubt we'll get anything.

Yes, I did. We've made commitments - vacation time, airfare, etc. etc. If my luck holds,
we won't miss a beat - I had a hard enough time on the front end of this purchase.

Ok, if you're saying that you did sign the letter, then it makes sense for them to send you a bill. Otherwise.. ?????
