Aruba - hotel recommendations for 2-3 nights - 02/25/2017 06:47 AM

Looking to possibly cut short an A, B & C cruise ( actually a C,B,& A cruise) in Aruba spend a couple days and fly home. have never been.

Looking for a hotel/resort/condo with a beautiful natural beach with chairs and umbrellas like SXM. do not want a casino, hustle and bustle, or anything like Westin on SXM. Mom and pop ok but must be very clean, SAFE, and have a place to eat on premises or nearby safe walk.

Open to all your ideas and experiences

Bucuti, beautiful place, great huge beach and restaurant on premises. Walking distance to some other restaurants. In the low rise district.

For your purposes Avoid high rise aka palm beach area at all costs. Eagle beach is low rise area. I found only one comfortable beach bar exists across from trop hotel.

The few private rentals i saw were good quality. Not all have hot water.

At night they replace chaises longues with romantic table cloth service including tiki torches. I loved it!

Nearby are hotel restaurants. I also recall a peruvian rest on a side road.

All hotels are across the main road.

Ps you will want to avoid st nicholas town but do go further south to quiet baby beach and flintsones bar. Dont recall loungers tho.

Also bring hat lotsa sunscreen and your patience getting the sand out of your ears. The strong wind NEVER stops. Its a weeeee bit cool at night due to high winds.

I prefer sxm any day over any aua beaches. Coral sand hurts ur feet in some areas. No shade. 50$ for 2 chaises longued n shade in palm beach but must vacate at 5pm when they bring out romantic table service (same for eagle beach)

Enjoy. Its not sxm. I paid 9usd for a small can of beer. 45$ for tuna plate. 5.50usd for 2l diet coke at grocery store. 5usd doz eggs.

Do check out art gallery in huge orangestad mall. Very unique method. Masks n crafts dyed instead of painted. Also pick up 30usd bottle of aruba aloes aftersun care. Its great product and ull need it.

Aruba is very safe.

Wow. Yikes, we haven't stayed there in a few years, but they must have done some serious upgrading there, if they can get that kind of money!

well, were heading to the holiday inn on points. Maybe something better and cheaper will open up closer to sail date. Were really only hopping off in Aruba on a Friday to get home to work by airplane by Sunday night and not sail home for three more days into the next workweek. It will be a little taste of Aruba and maybe we'll go back for a real Aruba vacation.
