Hotel tax in Aruba?

Hotel tax in Aruba? - 10/13/2017 06:45 PM

We are in looking to book a 2 week stay in Aruba in January. One line item on the reservation form is a Resort Fee. Another item is listed as "Tax", and the "Tax" amount comes out to 26.4% of the total base room rate.

Is the room tax that high in Aruba? Or is this place maybe adding in a combined service charge and local tax and labeling it "Tax"? Just wondering what the actual room tax rate is.

Thanks.

That sounds about right if you booked through sites such as Expedia. You should ask them for a complete breakdown of these charges to know what exactly they represent.

I dug this up from seven years ago so there would be some adjustments since that time.

Bobcat,
Would these taxes be applied on top of what we've paid for timeshare exchanges? Heading to Aruba Saturday through II.
Thanks.
