Awesome!! Been to Aruba twice a few years ago but your photos seem to highlight areas we have been to but in a different light. I think I may want to go back! Thanks!

Really enjoyed your work. If you have pictures of the developed parts - towns, hotels, etc - would love to see.

My camera crashed before I could take the Palm Beach pictures.

Cincinnati Kid -- I know you often also go to SXM -- Other than not having an "orient beach", what are the advantages + disadvantages of Aruba VS SXM?? (I am not sure I want to go back to SXM next fall/winter... so looking for elsewhere...) Enjoyed your photoshow!!

While I like Aruba, I love St. Maarten. Aruba is great for a change of pace, it lacks the variety of experience that St. Martin has. I am used to the rolling hills of southwestern Ohio, while Aruba is flat. Driving around the hills of St. Martin is fun for me. The multiculural experience of St. Martin appeals to me and while Aruba is multicultural, it is heavily Americanized in most areas where the tourists gather. I find that people on both islands are friendly. Its possible that the complexity of St. Martin offers a challenge for me that never gets dull. My wife prefers Aruba and our time share is in Aruba, but I prefer St. Martin. Casinos operate in Aruba as well as Dutch St. Maarten, which offers our main diversion in Aruba. My advice is to go to Aruba, you will enjoy it, but you will return to St. Martin.

Thomas Nicholls- "Slippin Blues"
He plays a mean blues guitar.

Laurel, I would love to take a side trip to Anguilla in 2013 (we will be there most likely the week of easter vacation). The ferry across isn't as long as the trip to St. Barts, and hopefully a lot smoother! It will be good to see TTOL friends again, as well as our favorite waitresses at Divi Little Bay. Is Shrimpy's still in business? We tried Pineapple Pete's last trip and enjoyed it greatly. The TTOL party was at Buccaneer Beach Bar, which was fun. We hope to see a new look for Mullet Beach. My son and I saw Mullet in its hayday, the year before Hurricane Luis destroyed the resort. But, if you go to Aruba, please go to Charlie's Bar!

We're booked for next April already! Anguilla again, can't wait!! Shrimpy's has been gone for a few years. There's a new bar there now called Barnacle's. First Pub Crawl was to Shrimpy's and on our recent Pub Crawl trip we went to Barnacle's. Felt strange to be back at the same location!

Is Charlie's Bar the old Carlos and Charlie's?

If you get the chance you should definitely spend a day on Anguilla! Very relaxing!

Charlie's Bar is on the eastern part of Aruba, in San Nicholas. It has been there since the 1940's. Carlos and Charlie's was closed and replaced by a new, similar bar (I can't remember the name).
