Catamaran Sailing classes - 06/08/2012 02:41 PM

Anyone taken the ASA catamaran sailing classes with any of these charter companies? Barefoot Yacht charters in the Grenadines, Fair Winds in the USVI or Rob Swain in the BVIs? We've chartered a powerboat in the BVIs before but are really interested in gaining some sailing experience on a catamaran? Anyone have any insight on these schools? Because these schools are in different places, I posted my question twice in two different forums. Thanks for your help!

Go with the one in the Grenadines, it blows the other two places away.

we used Barefoot off of St. Vincent for ASA Certification. We paid 150.00 a day for an instructor and "challenged the standards". We had our own boat (chartered from Moorings) so we just split the cost of instructor between the four (4) of us and started our charter with the instructor for 2 days, passed test and we were off. Dropped instructor off at Bequia where she lived and we were free and clear. Was a nice way to do it.
