Casting Off the Bowlines

Casting Off the Bowlines - 10/10/2013 11:53 AM

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." Mark Twain

That's what my husband and I are about to do. We're going cruising on our sailboat. Aiming for the Bahamas. My husband departs on the first leg of our journey -- Annapolis to Charleston -- on Sunday. You can follow our adventures on the blog I've started: Calypso's Odyssey

Wow!! How exciting! Good for you! I thought it was scary, semi-retiring, and moving to Florida!! Of course, 7 years later, I'm practicing law again, after having taken the Florida bar exam.

Smooth sailing!
We are so tempted to "get outa Dodge" with the current events going on but having a kid in her second year of college makes that about impossible.

Watch those "skinny waters" in the Bahamas!

Today marks 31 years Kim has worked as a nurses aide in a local nursing home. In all that time, when a resident was passing on and being given their last rites, not one of them has ever said "I wish I would have worked more". Enjoy your journey!

Congratulations Eva. Did the same thing 2 years ago. Left Annapolis, now in our second hurricane season in Grenada. We start moving back northward in a month.
Fair winds. Maybe see you out there.

Best of luck with your new travels Eva! Maybe we will see you out here?

We'll be in the eastern Caribbean this winter season so if you get down this far watch for us!

Fair winds and calm seas!!

Come and visit Nevis!

I promise I will visit Nevis! But by airplane. It's too far for a 7 month sabbatical. But I'm planning a trip in late 2014 to Nisbet Plantation (4th time!) to celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary. Will be planting a palm.
