Siesta Key, Florida - 05/19/2013 12:15 AM

Heading to Siesta Key in September for a destination wedding. We are going to turn a long weekend into a week vacation. We are thinking of staying at the Tropical Breeze Inn due to its location next to the beach and Siesta Village. Does anyone have any experience with it? Where would you suggest staying? Can anyone recommend good restaurants and must see attractions. Thanks

The Columbia Restaurant in St. Armands Circle has wonderful Spanish and Cuban food. That was the first Columbia Restaurant we tried. We like it so much that when ever we are someplace that has one we know that will be one of meals. It is still a family owned group of restaurants.

You will love the Village...I grew up on Palm Island just down the street from the Village on Siesta Key. Go to Big Olaf's for ice cream for a treat. There are several restaurants to go to and enjoy fresh fish or other wonderful fare. Stroll along the beach in the evening to watch the sunset...it is lovely. There are a number of restaurants going toward Midnight Pass bridge and when you cross over to US 41 there is a slew of places as well as shopping. A trip to St. Armands Circle and along Lido Beach is nice as well as going to the Marina area (Marina Jack's). Going toward Bradenton on US #41 you'll find the Botanical Gardens, Ringling Museum and the famous home, and other museums. Hope you have a lovely visit and do get a chance to fall in love with Sarasota... I know I do! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/usflag.gif" alt="" />
