Chiawa Newsletter - September 2006 - 10/22/2006 06:54 PM

And here is the preceding Chiawa newsletter from June 2006:

Chiawa combines very well with Old Mondoro bushcamp which they jointly own with Sausage Tree Camp. Here is the last newsleter from Old MOndoro:

So I do not seem unbalanced, there are many nice camps in the Lower Zambezi. Here are a few others:

www.sausagetreecamp.com
www.chongwe-river.com
www.kasakariverlodge.com
www.starofafrica.com (Kulefu)

Unfortunately, none of these camps, to my knowlege, have newsletters or I would post them.

Lower Zambezi is definitely a very special place and offers activities far beyond just game drives such as walking safaris, tiger fishing, canoeing and river safaris.

Lower Zambezi combines easily with Victoria Falls and South Luangwa and is the centerpiece to any memorable Zambian safari. Lower Zambezi is an easy 25 minute air transfer from Lusaka and if one desires, it is even possible to have a road/river transfer from Lusaka to Lower Zambezi.

Rocco, I didn't know you could fish for tigers, esp in Africa <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" />

I went to Chiawa Camp in 2002 and it was hands down the most awesome experience of my life. I saw a leopard, 6 lions including a cub, 15 elephants that tromped through our campsite including 3 babies, crocodiles, hippos, a giant eagle owl, a pack of hyenas eating a dead water buffalo carcass, baboons, monkeys that stole my morning biscuits, herons, lilac breasted rollers, etc etc etc etc. OMG I cannot recommend this place enough. I went on two other safaris in Zambia but nothing came close to this.
